<h3>The Position</h3><p><b>The Opportunity</b></p><p><span>The State Government Affairs (SGA) Senior Manager is responsible for working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across the assigned states and Genentech’s Customer Engagement (CE) field ecosystems, in a designated region of the United States, to advance Genentech’s legislative and regulatory priorities. The region will include approximately 5-7 contiguous states. It is expected that the Senior Manager will reside in the designated region. Through their work, the Senior Manager will develop relationships and influence legislative and executive policy decisions, while supporting the needs of patients and customers to advance Genentech’s business goals.</span></p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><p></p><p>Interactions with external stakeholders<span>:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Advocating and lobbying, on the company’s behalf, with state legislatures and executive branches including, but not limited to:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Assisting in the development of legislative and regulatory policy positions</span></p></li><li><p><span>Drafting amendments, preparing and delivering testimony; and,</span></p></li><li><p><span>Attending and representing Genentech at legislative hearings, meetings and events.</span></p></li></ul></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Developing and sustaining strategic relationships with external stakeholders, including but not limited to: elected officials and staff, relevant state agencies and departments, industry partners, trade associations, third party stakeholder groups - including advocacy partners - and identifying opportunities for shared legislative/policy objectives.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Registering as a state lobbyist, completing any required training and reporting requirements, as well as managing contract lobbyists and association member engagement.
