SENIOR PROJECT CIVIL ENGINEER (DREDGING)

Position Summary To support the RGT-3 PROJECT, DREDGING LEAD in the planning, supervision, inspection, coordination, reporting, and execution monitoring of dredging and marine civil works throughout the project duration. The candidate shall ensure all site activities comply with project specifications, QA/QC requirements, safety standards, and approved methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Inspection
  • Assist RGT-3 PROJECT, DREDGING LEAD in supervising and monitoring all dredging and marine-related site activities.
  • Witness and inspect field investigations and survey works including but not limited to:
    • Boreholes
    • Vibrocore works
    • Sub-bottom profiling
    • Electrical Resistivity Test (ERT)
    • Hydrographic survey
    • Pre & post dredging survey
    • Dredging and disposal activities
  • Monitor contractor’s work progress, productivity, manpower, and equipment deployment at site.
  • Ensure site works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITP, and project requirements.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and identify non-conformance, defects, or potential delays.
2. QA/QC Coordination
  • Liaise and coordinate with Client, Consultant, Surveyors, Authorities, and Contractor representatives on QA/QC matters.
  • Assist in reviewing and verifying:
    • Inspection requests
    • Site records
    • Test reports
    • Daily progress reports
    • Survey data and related submissions
  • Ensure compliance with approved PQP, ITP, project specifications, and relevant standards.
  • Participate in inspections, witnessing activities, and technical discussions whenever required.
3. Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
  • Record site activities including manpower, equipment deployment, work progress, weather conditions, delays, and critical observations.
  • Assist RGT-3 PROJECT, DREDGING LEAD in preparing:
    • Progress presentations
    • Meeting slides / PowerPoint presentations
    • Simple technical reports
    • Site updates and summaries
    • Progress tracking sheets
    • MOM (Minutes of Meeting)
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation for project records.
4. Project Coordination
  • Attend site meetings, progress meetings, toolbox meetings, and technical discussions as required.
  • Coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve site issues and improve work progress.
  • Assist in monitoring project schedules, milestones, and critical work activities.
  • Support RGT-3 PROJECT, DREDGING LEAD in ensuring smooth project execution and communication among stakeholders.
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all site activities comply with HSE requirements and safe work practices.
  • Report unsafe conditions, non-compliance issues, and potential risks to RGT-3 PROJECT, DREDGING LEAD immediately.
  • Promote safe working culture and good site discipline.
Requirements / Criteria
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Marine Engineering, or equivalent related field.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in site supervision, inspection, or contractor role for civil/marine/dredging projects.
  • Experience in dredging, reclamation, marine construction, or geotechnical investigation works will be an added advantage.
  • Well versed with QA/QC documentation, Project Specifications, PQP, ITP, and inspection workflow.
  • Able to prepare simple reports, presentations, and project documentation independently.
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Office applications:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with Client, Contractor, and Consultant teams.
  • Willing to work at project site and travel when required.
  • Possess good discipline, responsibility, and teamwork attitude.

Employment Terms
  • Employment Type: Contract Basis
  • Contract Duration: Three (3) Years Project-Based Employment
  • Contract Renewal: Subject to yearly performance evaluation and project requirement
  • Permanent Absorption: Potential opportunity for permanent employment subject to satisfactory performance and company requirements
