Production Line Leader

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations Management

  • Oversee and manage daily production line operations to ensure smooth workflow and achievement of production targets.
  • Monitor production output, cycle time, and efficiency, taking immediate corrective action when deviations occur.
  • Ensure production schedules are met in accordance with planned targets and customer delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate manpower allocation and workstation assignments to optimize production line performance.

People Management &

  • Leadership

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of production operators to maintain high levels of productivity and discipline.
  • Conduct daily briefings and toolbox meetings to communicate production targets, quality requirements, and safety reminders.
  • Monitor operator attendance, performance, and behavior, and escalate issues to the Production Supervisor or Manager as required.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new operators on production processes, SOPs, and safety procedures.

Quality Assurance &

  • Compliance

  • Ensure all products manufactured on the line meet quality standards and specifications as defined by the Quality Department.
  • Conduct line inspections and quality checks throughout the production process to detect and address defects early.
  • Enforce compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and company policies at all times.
  • Report and escalate quality issues, non-conformances, and process deviations promptly to the relevant teams.

Safety &

  • Housekeeping

  • Promote and enforce a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Ensure the production area is clean, organized, and maintained in accordance with 5S standards at all times.
  • Report workplace hazards, near-misses, and accidents promptly and participate in safety investigations as required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement on the production line and propose practical solutions.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, Lean, and 5S activities.
  • Work with the Industrial Engineering and Quality teams to implement process improvements and standardize best practices.

Reporting &

  • Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including output reports, downtime logs, and manpower records.
  • Prepare daily and weekly production reports and present findings to the Production Supervisor or Manager.
  • Track and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as output rate, defect rate, downtime, and attendance.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Planning teams to resolve production-related issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate production status, issues, and requirements clearly and promptly to relevant departments.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by providing production floor feedback and assisting in trial runs.

Requirements

  • Minimum SPM, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in any related field; technical certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or line leader role.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of operators.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen principles is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced production environment.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
