PYP & MYP Visual Arts

<p>Overview:</p><p>As a Visual Arts Teacher , you will be responsible for fostering a creative and engaging learning environment for students of the IB curriculum. You will develop and deliver a visual arts curriculum that supports the philosophy and promotes the holistic development of students.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Curriculum Development and Implementation:</strong></p><ul><li>Design and implement a comprehensive visual arts curriculum aligned with the IB framework.</li><li>Develop lesson plans that incorporate inquiry-based learning, focusing on conceptual understanding and student agency.</li><li>Integrate visual arts with other subjects through interdisciplinary units of inquiry.</li></ul><p><strong>Instruction and Facilitation:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide engaging and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.</li><li>Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and tools to facilitate artistic expression and creativity.</li><li>Encourage students to explore different mediums and techniques in visual arts.</li></ul><p><strong>Assessment and Reporting:</strong></p><ul><li>Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of student achievements and prepare reports in line with IB requirements.</li><li>Conduct student-led conferences and contribute to the development of student portfolios.</li></ul><p><strong>Professional Development:</strong></p><ul><li>Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with IB practices and visual arts education.</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school's professional learning community.</li></ul><p><strong>Community Engagement:</strong></p><ul><li>Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.</li><li>Organize and participate in school events, exhibitions, and other community-building activities.</li><li>Advocate for the visual arts within the school and broader community.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).</li><li>Teaching certification or credential in visual arts education.</li><li>Strong understanding of the IB philosophy and curriculum.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li></ul><p></p>
