About the position

Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment for advanced semiconductor production. Technical writers play a critical role in enabling on-time delivery of new products by collaborating closely with engineering teams to develop, review, and release high-quality documentation required for product shipment and customer delivery. In addition, technical writers help address safety-related issues and customer escalations, often under urgent timelines. This ensures accurate and compliant documentation is available to support safe product use in the field and directly contributes to customer satisfaction and successful product adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Create and thoroughly edit technical procedures and manuals for internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with engineers and core writing staff to finalize procedures using Microsoft Word.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of technical content.
  • Create product manuals in the Content Management System (CMS).
  • Obtain information from engineering sources, edit the information for accuracy and completeness, and incorporate it into procedures.
  • Attend and contribute to content team meetings, and provide status and plans for future deliverables.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in one of the following fields of study: Technical Writing, English, Communications, or Journalism. Note: A different degree (for example, an engineering degree) is acceptable but excellent writing skills are required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of writing or editing experience
  • Strong English language skills (this is a MUST have)
  • Work experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent editing and writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
