Staff Accountant

LHH is partnering with a large company in Tacoma, WA that is searching for a temporary to hire Staff Accountant. You will be joining a team that is supportive and will provide training, but the ideal candidate will have at least two years of accounting experience already. You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. There is opportunity to grow internally at this company. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts
  • Analyze financial results and variances
  • Support AP/AR functions as needed in a high-volume environment
  • Track and reconcile fuel, fleet, and transportation-related expenses
  • Assist in maintaining fixed asset schedules and depreciation
  • Prepare supporting documentation for audits and compliance requirements
  • Identify process improvements and support automation initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Two or more years of accounting experience (transportation, logistics, or high-volume industry preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage, or similar preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Pay Details: $32.00 to $35.00 per hour
