Senior Structural Engineer - Lead High-Impact Building Projects

We are seeking a licensed Senior Structural Engineer to lead our office’s structural engineering and building restoration practice. This role requires a hands‑on technical leader who can manage projects from concept through construction, serve as the lead PE, and provide direction to both staff and clients.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, a PE/SE license, 7+ years of structural design experience with building structures, and 2–4 years of building restoration and/or forensic engineering experience. Experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 Milestone Inspections is required, along with strong knowledge of FBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, MasterFormat specifications, and structural analysis/design software such as RISA, RAM, ETABS, ADAPT, SAFE, and Revit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day‑to‑day office operations and serve as the Lead PE for the office.
  • Manage, mentor, and review the work of senior and staff engineers.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for all structural engineering and building restoration projects.
  • Lead Phase 1 and Phase 2 Milestone Inspections and oversee staff participation.
  • Direct the preparation of structural drawings, calculations, specifications, analytical models, reports, and correspondence from project start through completion, including signing and sealing documents.
  • Prepare MasterFormat specifications for bidding, permitting, and construction on building restoration projects.
  • Oversee construction administration activities, including review of shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and field observations.
  • Conduct forensic investigations involving structural failures, water intrusion, roof damage, construction defects, and building system failures.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely and successful execution.
  • Attend and lead meetings with clients, consultants, and design team members.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of building fundamentals and applicable design codes and standards, including FBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI.
  • Proficiency with structural engineering software such as RISA, RAM, ETABS, ADAPT, SAFE, and/or Revit.
  • Strong knowledge of MasterFormat specification writing.
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven project management and staff leadership experience.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Ability and willingness to manage, mentor, and develop engineering staff.
