Despite the availability of effective interventions across the care continuum, access to timely detection, diagnosis and quality treatment remains limited, resulting in late-stage presentation and poor outcomes. Health systems face persistent barriers, including gaps in diagnostic capacity, limited access to affordable treatment, and fragmented service delivery.</p> <p> </p> <p>CHAI’s Global Cancer Program supports governments to transform access to cancer care in LMICs through a comprehensive approach spanning prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care. The program is built on 3 pillars: (1) Supporting Ministries of Health to integrate screening, diagnosis and treatment services into routine healthcare, update policies, build workforce capacity, unlock financing and strengthen health systems for scale-up; (2) Engaging in market-shaping to improve access and affordability of cancer medicines and treatment modalities (e.g., radiotherapy); (3) Advancing both product and service innovation to enable earlier detection and faster diagnosis and treatment. The program focuses on breast cancer, paediatric cancers, and cross-cutting efforts to expand access to cancer medicines and radiotherapy.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>The program is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong strategic thinking, excellent communication, people management skills, and demonstrated experience for the role of Project Manager. The levelling of this role could be at a Senior Associate or Program Manager level, depending on the candidate’s experience and alignment to the said job responsibilities.</p> <p> </p> <p>This role will involve supporting the program lead with project management responsibilities, including donor reporting, donor engagement, and collaborating with multiple country teams to ensure quality and timely delivery. The position will provide support to country teams, offer technical guidance — particularly on improving caner services for breast and paediatric cancers, as well as medicine and radiotherapy access — and contribute to thought leadership and communication efforts. Additionally, the position will assist team leadership in scoping new areas of work and support proposal development.</p> <p> </p> <p>The role requires collaboration with key stakeholders across the CHAI matrix, including the diagnostics, markets, and AIR/research teams, while closely working with country teams.</p> <p> </p> <p>The role may require ~30% travel. The position will report to the Senior Program Manager, Global Cancer Program.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p><em>Program management</em></p> <ul> <li>Oversee delivery across multiple countries and workstreams, including tracking progress against priorities, driving follow-up with teams, and proactively identifying and addressing risks and delays to ensure timely and high-quality execution</li> <li>Structure and support core program management processes (e.g., team check-ins, work planning), ensuring clarity on priorities and next steps</li> <li>Lead the collation, analysis, and synthesis of country-level inputs into high-quality reports for donors, concept notes or other internal planning materials</li> <li>Serve as the primary point of contact for project partners and drive effective coordination, resolution of bottlenecks and timely follow-up on joint activities</li> <li>Support the team in responding to ongoing requests from donors related to the cancer program across countries (e.g., memos, data analysis, scoping reports, budget updates, communication materials). Over time, take ownership of this workstream.</li> <li>Lead on the creation of a calendar of program events/ key activities and oversee its execution (e.g. report & proposal submissions, special cancer days, deadline for conference submissions)</li> <li>Coordinate across CHAI global and country teams (e.g., diagnostics, markets, research) to ensure alignment and coherence of program activities</li> </ul> <p><em>Country support</em></p> <ul> <li>Provide hands-on support to country teams to plan and execute cancer care interventions helping translate priorities into clear work plans, structured analyses, and actionable next steps, especially around paediatric cancer, breast cancer and radiotherapy</li> <li>Respond to ad hoc requests from country teams, including to troubleshoot bottlenecks and develop materials (e.g, memos, slide decks, and operational tools) to inform strategy and implementation</li> <li>Coordinate with country teams and partners to support governments to access essential cancer commodities and technologies at affordable prices</li> <li>Consolidate key insights and learnings from country engagements to inform cross-country work and overall program direction</li> <li>Provide inputs and guidance on integration of cancer services within broader health system programs (e.g. cervical cancer, NCDs)</li> </ul> <p><em>Market Shaping</em></p> <ul> <li>Support the design and execution of market access strategies to improve affordability and availability of cancer care (e.g., cancer medicines, radiotherapy)</li> <li>Conduct market and supplier analyses – including in the innovation and AI space — and support engagement with manufacturers, distributors, and procurement agencies across the cancer care continuum (i.e., early detection, diagnostic, and treatment)</li> <li>Track implementation of market shaping agreements in supported countries and identify needs for technical assistance to drive uptake.</li> </ul> <p><em>Knowledge management and fundraising</em></p> <ul> <li>Manage the program resources on box, develop and update program briefs/ decks, coordinate with CHAIs operations team to get the Global Cancer page updated on CHAINet- CHAIs internal resource hub</li> <li>Contribute to writing technical pieces on the program, including but not limited to white papers, articles, blogs, research manuscripts etc.</li> <li>Coordinate with the CHAI communications team to develop and execute the comm’s plan for the program</li> <li>Support with developing compelling proposals, including detailed budgets for new areas of work/ expansion of the program</li> </ul> <p><em>Program strategy</em></p> <ul> <li>Contribute to writing the program strategy, including defining program goals over the next 5 years</li> <li>Scope new opportunities areas for CHAI to have significant impact in cancer care, including potential funding opportunities and new program areas.</li> </ul> <p><em>Additional responsibilities</em></p> <ul> <li>Support with data cleaning and analysis on ongoing studies/ projects on the program</li> <li>Any other task as identified by the Global Cancer leadership team</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree, with minimum 6-7 year’s work experience in a fast-paced industry requiring a high level of quantitative and analytical skills</li> <li>Exceptional analytical (qualitative and quantitative), problem-solving, and communication (written and verbal) skills</li> <li>Ability to collaborate remotely with team members spread across geographies</li> <li>Ability to independently operate in an unstructured but demanding multicultural environment</li> <li>Ability to multitask, set priorities, and rapidly absorb/synthesize a broad range of information</li> <li>High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word</li> </ul> <p><strong>Advantages:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Public Health or other related disciplines</li> <li>Candidates with experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industries, management consulting, or investment banking</li> <li>Prior knowledge of or experience with public or private partners within the global health ecosystem</li> <li>Experience living and working in low-resource settings</li> </ul> <p>#jobreference2 #region3 #region4</p>
