PowerPoint Presentation Designer for Nine-Part Live Speaking Series
I am looking for an experienced PowerPoint presentation designer and visual storyteller to design a nine-presentation live speaking series on artificial intelligence and what it means to remain human in an age of AI.
These are approximately 44-minute talks that will be delivered live to audiences aboard a major cruise line. The audience is predominantly older adults, so readability, visual clarity, restraint, and auditorium sightlines are especially important.
This is not an investor pitch deck, sales presentation, corporate-template assignment, or Canva-design project.
I am looking for someone who understands how visuals support a speaker on stage: sometimes through a photograph, sometimes through a few carefully chosen words, sometimes through a visual sequence or progressive reveal, and sometimes by getting almost entirely out of the speaker's way.
Schedule: This is an active production project with a firm target of completing all nine presentations by September 10, 2026. The initial six-slide calibration assignment will therefore need to begin promptly. Applicants should have meaningful availability over the next four weeks.
What Already Exists
The content and presentation architecture are substantially developed.
I will provide:
•Complete presentation scripts
• Existing PowerPoint decks
• A defined visual system
• Slide-by-slide visual direction
• Audience and presentation context
• Examples of treatments that work and treatments that do not
• Source material and personal photographs where appropriate
The existing slides should be treated as source material and design direction, not simply as finished layouts that need beautification.
I am open to a designer rethinking imagery, composition, hierarchy, visual metaphor, and layout when doing so creates a stronger live presentation.
I am not looking for someone to write the talks or determine the overall narrative structure.
I want a designer who can interpret the material visually, improve on my existing ideas when appropriate, and execute the presentations at a professional level.
Design Approach
The presentations should feel:
• Intelligent but accessible
• Warm and human
• Visually sophisticated without being flashy
• Spacious rather than crowded
• Highly legible from the back of a room
• Consistent across nine presentations without becoming repetitive
Photography and imagery should remain vivid and visually strong. I do not want images unnecessarily faded, washed out, or obscured merely to accommodate text.
Visual storytelling ability matters more to me than decorative graphic design.
The slides should support the spoken presentation rather than duplicate it.
PowerPoint Requirements
The presentations must be built natively in Microsoft PowerPoint and delivered as fully editable .pptx files.
I need to be able to modify the presentations myself after the engagement.
Text, shapes, image placements, layouts, charts, animations, progressive reveals, and other PowerPoint elements should remain editable wherever practical.
The project should use a professionally constructed PowerPoint theme/Slide Master so that the visual system can be maintained across all nine presentations.
The work will include slides in which sequencing and timing are part of the visual design. Progressive reveals and animations must therefore be built and function natively in PowerPoint rather than being simulated through static images.
Any element that must be flattened should be identified, and the editable source asset should also be provided.
Please do not propose a Canva-to-PowerPoint workflow or delivery consisting primarily of flattened slide images, screenshots, PDFs, or exported graphics.
Asset Requirements
All photographs, illustrations, icons, fonts, video, and other third-party assets must be appropriately licensed for continuing commercial/public-presentation use.
No essential asset should depend upon my maintaining the designer's personal subscription or account.
Fonts must be commercially usable and available to me after the engagement. If nonstandard fonts are used, any licensing, transfer, embedding, or installation requirements must be clearly identified.
Ownership
Upon final payment for each milestone, all rights in custom work created specifically for this project must be assigned to me, including the right to edit, reproduce, adapt, publicly display, and create derivative works from that work.
Third-party licensed assets are excluded from that assignment, but all applicable licenses and restrictions must be clearly identified.
Paid Calibration Assignment
I do not intend to award all nine presentations immediately.
The first engagement will be a paid six-slide calibration assignment using actual material from the first presentation.
The six slides have been deliberately selected to represent different presentation-design problems, including:
• Series identity and opening-slide design
• Complex information hierarchy
• Visual interpretation of ideas rather than simple text placement
• Auditorium readability
• A functioning progressive reveal explaining how a large language model predicts language
• Presentation of an AI prompt-and-response exchange in a way that works clearly for a live audience
The existing six slides are starting material, not finished designs that simply need cosmetic improvement.
The designer may rethink imagery, composition, hierarchy, visual metaphor, and layout where appropriate, provided the intended meaning and relationship to the spoken material are preserved.
At least one of the six slides requires a functioning progressive reveal built natively in PowerPoint.
The final calibration deliverable must be a fully editable .pptx file.
Budget for the calibration assignment: $400–$600 fixed price. Exceptional candidates may propose a somewhat higher fee.
If we work well together and the design reaches the required standard, the next milestone will be completion of Presentation 1.
If Presentation 1 is successful, I anticipate commissioning the remaining eight presentations.
The anticipated total budget for the complete engagement, including the initial six-slide calibration assignment, is approximately $7,000, depending upon scope and the designer's proposal.
Who I'm Looking For
Please apply if you have substantial experience designing presentations specifically in PowerPoint and can demonstrate excellent work intended for live speakers, conferences, keynotes, educational presentations, or large-room audiences.
I am especially interested in seeing examples demonstrating:
• Visual storytelling
• Strong photography
• Excellent typography
• Minimal or text-light slides
• Progressive reveals or animation
• Sophisticated but restrained layouts
• Complex information made visually clear
• Consistency across a long presentation
• Native PowerPoint craftsmanship
Beautiful investor pitch decks alone will not demonstrate the capabilities I need.
I am looking for someone who can exercise visual judgment, not simply execute instructions.
When Applying
Please include:
1. A link to 3–5 examples of your most relevant presentation work.
2. At least one example, if available, designed for a live speaker or large-room presentation.
3. Confirmation that you personally work in Microsoft PowerPoint and can provide fully editable native .pptx files.
4. A brief description of how you approach designing visuals around a speaker rather than putting the speaker's words onto slides.
5. A brief explanation of how you decide whether an existing slide needs better execution—or an entirely different visual idea.
6. Your fixed-price quote for the six-slide calibration assignment.
7. Confirmation that, if selected for the full engagement, you can support completion of all nine presentations by September 17, 2026. Please indicate your approximate availability/capacity through September 10 and briefly describe how you would sequence the work after the calibration assignment.
Please begin your response with the words "LIVE PRESENTATION" so I know you have read the complete description.
