Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review and physical examinations focused on foot and ankle health.
  • Diagnose a wide range of podiatric conditions such as bunions, heel pain, ingrown toenails, diabetic foot ulcers, and deformities.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating medical interventions, surgical procedures, orthotics, and patient education.
  • Utilize advanced imaging techniques like X-rays and other medical imaging tools to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures including suturing, toenail removal, and wound care with precision and aseptic technique.
  • Manage post-operative care and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient management.
  • Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR systems) ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards.
Experience
  • Proven experience in outpatient podiatric medicine with a strong foundation in clinical evaluation and surgical procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or similar platforms for efficient documentation.
  • Knowledge of advanced diagnostic tools including medical imaging techniques relevant to podiatry.
  • Experience in managing diabetic foot care, wound management, and perioperative care is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to promote optimal outcomes.
  • Prior hospital or clinic experience working within a multidisciplinary environment is preferred.
  • Certification or licensure as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) is required; additional training in specialized areas such as sports medicine or diabetic limb salvage is a plus.
