Patient Care Technician- Medical Oncology

Patient Care Technician positions at MD Anderson Cancer Center play a vital role in supporting patient care within the Medical Oncology G21 Unit. This 48-bed intermediate care unit serves adult and geriatric patients, providing treatment for colorectal, gastrointestinal, and lung cancers, as well as managing complex chemotherapeutic and bio-immunotherapeutic regimens. The unit also cares for patients with acute non-cancer medical conditions and those requiring cardiac monitoring and infusion of cardiac medications.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of recent experience in direct patient care, and preferably hold a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays are essential.

Minimum $18.27 - Midpoint $22.84 - Maximum $27.40 per hour based on a 40-hour work week. The typical work schedule includes shifts from 7pm-7am and 3pm-11pm, with rotating weekends and holidays required. Work location: Onsite.

Responsibilities
• Provide patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.
• Act as a member of a multidisciplinary team to identify and address patient care needs.
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobilization, admission/discharge processes, and obtaining vital signs.
• Update and retrieve patient information accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment.
• Participate as part of an assigned care team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
