The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and directing a music program across the district and will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues in the music department. </p><p> If you are a passionate and dedicated educator with a love for music and a commitment to student success, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity! </p><p> Responsibilities: </p><ol><li> Plan and implement a comprehensive music program for students in grades PK-12 </li><li> Develop and implement lessons that meet the needs of all students and align with school and district standards </li><li> Rehearse and lead performances, including concerts, festivals, and competitions </li><li> Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and growth </li><li> Collaborate with other music teachers to develop a comprehensive music curriculum </li><li> Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff </li><li> Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and school administration. </li><li> Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in music education </li><li> Ensure all musical activities are in compliance with school policies and state regulations </li><li> Stay current with industry trends and best practices in music education through professional development opportunities and collaboration with other music teachers </li><li> Attend school events, concerts, and other extracurricular activities as required </li></ol><p> Qualifications: </p><p> Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field </p><p> Kansas teaching certification in Music Education </p><p> Demonstrated success in teaching music at the across grade levels is preferred </p><p> Knowledge of musical theory, history, and performance techniques </p><p> Strong organizational and communication skills </p><p> Ability to work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and support staff </p> <p>Benefits Information</p> The Board currently contributes $560.00 per month towards health insurance for each teacher participating in the school sponsored health insurance group. <p>Salary Information</p> $51,151 - $77,469 based on experience and degrees <p>Employer Information</p> <p> Sedgwick Public Schools, USD 439 , is a pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade state accredited school system. The student population is near 500 annually. The school is housed on one campus with two school buildings, elementary and high school. The junior high and high school are members of the Heart of America League which supports and promotes academic and athletic programs for the 10 member school districts. Sedgwick is located in the southern part of Harvey County, just 15 minutes north of Wichita. The community itself is home to a population of 1600 residents.</p>
