Logistics Support Specialist

Job Description

Air & Sea Freight is looking for a reliable, experienced, and highly organized Logistics Support Specialist to support daily freight forwarding and logistics operations. This person will serve as a key right-hand support role to management and will be responsible for helping oversee shipments, coordinate with carriers, agents, clients, warehouses, and vendors, and ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly without constant supervision.

The ideal candidate must have 3–5 years of hands-on logistics operations experience and be comfortable managing multiple shipments, solving operational issues, and communicating professionally with clients and partners. This role requires someone proactive, detail-oriented, accountable, and capable of taking ownership of the operations side of the business when management is not immediately available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily logistics operations for air, ocean, trucking, drayage, warehousing, and special project shipments.
  • Communicate with clients, carriers, airlines, steamship lines, overseas agents, customs brokers, warehouses, and vendors.
  • Track and monitor shipments from origin to final delivery, ensuring timely updates and issue resolution.
  • Assist with booking shipments, requesting rates, preparing documentation, and coordinating pickups and deliveries.
  • Handle operational problems quickly, including delays, missed pickups, carrier issues, documentation errors, and client requests.
  • Support management by taking ownership of daily operations and reducing the need for constant oversight.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records, email communication, documents, and internal notes.
  • Follow up with clients and partners to ensure high service levels and professional communication.
  • Help prepare quotes, shipment updates, delivery confirmations, and operational reports when needed.
  • Coordinate closely with customs brokers to support smooth import and export clearance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and logistics best practices.
  • Prioritize urgent shipments and manage multiple operational tasks at the same time.
  • Act as a dependable point of contact for clients and partners when management is unavailable.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
