Grade10 (Salaried)<br><br><strong>Position Description:<br><br></strong>The University of Louisville is hiring an IT Systems Engineer V reporting to the Associate Vice Provost in ITS Research Computing department. This position is responsible for management and administration of the university’s central research computing infrastructure, including supercomputing clusters, software, data storage, and networking. This position will work with all aspects of hardware and software systems including assisting with specification, ordering and installation of new hardware, storage and associated networking; installing and administering specialized research software; diagnosing and resolving software and hardware problems; working with hardware and software vendors, and assisting research faculty and users with operation of the systems.<br><br>Requires highly experienced individual with a background in Linux system administration, supercomputing clusters, parallel file systems (Lustre preferred) and university research applications.<br><br>This position supports defense‑related projects.
