Flight Attendant (Hebrew Speakers Only)

United Airlines seeks flight attendants in Newark, NJ. The role focuses on ensuring safety, providing excellent customer service, and representing United worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Attend 6.5 weeks of initial training in Houston, TX; complete safety and service standards instruction.
  • After training, serve as a full‑time flight attendant assigned to one of United’s hubs.
  • Ensure passenger safety during flights, including completing evacuation drills in water.
  • Deliver high‑level customer service, resolve issues with empathy and professionalism, and promote customer loyalty.
  • Operate a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended duty periods.
  • Follow all safety, grooming, uniform, and tattoo policies.
  • Perform physical duties such as carrying luggage up to 250 lbs., standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and operating a beverage cart.
  • Pass required DOT/FAA pre‑employment and random drug screens, background checks, vision and hearing tests, and a 10‑year criminal history review.

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • High school graduate or GED; two or more years of college preferred.
  • At least one year of customer‑service experience in the service industry.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking) and Hebrew (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Valid U.S. passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity before expiration.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Physical capability: stand, walk, bend, lift up to 250 lbs, meet reach assessment (76‑inch vertical, 43.5‑inch horizontal), and satisfy vision (20/40 or better) and hearing requirements per FAA.
  • Willingness to travel globally and work flexible shifts.
  • Acceptance of safety, grooming, and uniform guidelines.

Training & Onboarding

  • Complete an evacuation drill in water during initial training.
  • Pass DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
  • Meet all physical, hearing, and vision standards specified by the FAA and United Airlines.
  • Successfully complete a 10‑year background check including criminal history review.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting hourly pay of $28.88, with seniority increases and additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips.

Benefits include 401(k), health/dental/vision insurance, an employee assistance plan, paid sick and vacation time, and flight privileges for the employee, family, and friends.

During training, receive a $140 per week stipend, two meals per day, and a $1,000 bonus upon successful completion.
