Assistant Manager, Social Media

Job Description:

  • Assist in driving innovation in storytelling & publishing across @adidas brand social media platforms, partner platforms and new media.
  • In partnership with the Senior Manager, Social Media execute against the adidas Global Category and Market owned and partner network.
  • Define the social editorial calendar for key initiatives and influence day-to-day publishing to the category’s social communities.
  • Act as a Newsroom key point of contact for either Originals/Lifestyle, Sportwear and/or Outdoor and its consumer across all relevant social platforms.
  • Create engaging content plans and experiences which drive conversation and connect to adidas’ wider digital world—adidas.com & adidas app, prioritizing membership.
  • Ensure innovation is landed in key campaigns across social platforms.
  • In collaboration with sports marketing and culture marketing teams, ensure brand stories are amplified through adidas partner portfolio and network channels.
  • Execute the social media strategy across select NAM @adidas brand social channels (calendar, roll out, content ready to publish, social listening, reactive publishing).
  • Support NAM team of social media publishers to manage and moderate adidas’ brand channels to build and protect the brand.
  • Work with Newsroom network–PR, Partner Activation, Analytics–to maximize the publishing mix for all campaigns across owned, earned and paid channels.
  • Identify and implement platform trends.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing/Communications and Digital Marketing teams to create effective editorial calendar and post plan specific to each social platform.
  • Create publishing plans for adidas partners/athletes in-line with category social plans.
  • Listen, respond, analyze, moderate and engage key social communities – reporting all findings and constantly adjusting strategy and tactics depending on data.
  • Join cross functional project teams on larger scale adidas Brand initiatives.
  • Monitor and record discussion trends to identify opportunities to shape future communications, raise issues with PR and Customer Service, and share with relevant Business Units.
  • Work closely with key social influencers and/or sports marketing partners within category to ensure content visibility and discussion.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs to feedback to stakeholders on success and outcome of content placement in media or publishing of content on social channels.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in marketing, advertising or related field required.
  • Two (2) years of social marketing experience, preferably with a sporting or consumer goods company or equivalent account management experience at an agency.
  • Strong knowledge of the social media ecosystem and understanding how to effectively manage a social community (i.e. Meta, Tik Tok, X, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest).
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills to develop relevant post plans.
  • Ability to manage and / or collaborate with internal and external cross-functional groups: product marketing, communications, social, digital and retail.
  • Understanding of editorial planning, particularly across PR and social landscape including experience using social media analytics & publishing tools (e.g. Khoros/Sprinklr/Talkwalker).
  • Strong written and verbal, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Knowledge, passion and understanding of Sports, Music, Streetwear and Fashion.
  • Influencer and Creator-led Marketing.
  • Content creation for social.
