Our everyday mission is to educate students in short-term and professional programs for gainful employment and career advancement.  Careers Site: https://www.success.edu/careers-with-sec/ 12 hours 16 weeks Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program Course: NUR 411 – Biostatistics Delivery Mode: Online Classification: Adjunct / Part-Time Reports To: Dean POSITION SUMMARY The Adjunct RN BSN Theory Instructor – Biostatistics is responsible for delivering high-quality, online instruction in biostatistics for students enrolled in the BSN program. The instructor supports student learning in statistical concepts, data analysis, and evidence-based practice as applied to nursing and healthcare. This role ensures course delivery aligns with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and program learning outcomes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach NUR 411 – Biostatistics in an online format in accordance with approved curriculum, course objectives, and student learning outcomes. Facilitate engaging, student-centered online learning experiences using discussion boards, virtual lectures, case studies, and applied assignments. Teach core concepts including: Descriptive and inferential statistics Probability and distributions Hypothesis testing Data interpretation Evidence-based practice and research application Integrate statistical concepts with nursing practice and healthcare decision-making. Develop, update, and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lectures, assignments, and assessments. Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver content, communicate with students, and track progress. Evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, discussions, and exams; provide timely and constructive feedback. Maintain accurate records of student participation, grades, and academic progress. Promote critical thinking, data literacy, and application of research in nursing practice. Provide timely communication and academic support to students in an online environment. Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required. Uphold academic integrity and ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Strong knowledge of biostatistics and its application to nursing and healthcare research. Ability to teach quantitative concepts clearly in an online environment. Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle). Familiarity with statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, Excel, or similar platforms). Strong written communication skills for online instruction. Ability to engage and support students in a virtual learning environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills.     Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license. Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field from a regionally accredited institution. Coursework or demonstrated competency in statistics, biostatistics, or research methods. Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
